Several Northern Nevada fire agencies will host the first annual Silver State Women in Fire Female Firefighter Training Day on Saturday, June 29, at Carson City Fire Station 52. The event, running from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, aims to highlight the role of women in the fire service and encourage more women to consider this career path.
Community members are invited to apply for the 2024 session of the Reno Constituents Institute (RCI) provided by the City of Reno. The application deadline is July 18, 2024.

The City of Reno and the Truckee Meadows Water Authority (TMWA) have announced a $30 million grant to fund Nevada’s first A+ Advanced Purified Water Facility (APWF), known as the OneWater Nevada APWF at American Flat. The grant, awarded by the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation (BOR), is part of President Biden’s Bipartisan Infrastructure Law aimed at supporting water reuse projects.
The Reno City Council today appointed Jackie Bryant as interim City Manager, effective July 8, 2024. Bryant, who has served as an Assistant City Manager at the City of Reno since April 2021, will step into the role while the city works with an external executive recruitment firm to find a new City Manager.
