City of Reno administrative offices will be closed on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, in observance of Juneteenth. All City of Reno recreation facilities and indoor pools will also be closed on June 19. Outdoor pools (Idlewild and Traner) will be open with reduced hours. Please visit Reno.gov/ParksandRec for specific hours and more information.

The Reno Police Department (RPD) advises the public of these phone and online reporting options:

For all emergencies requiring police, fire, or medical response, call or text to 9-1-1.

For non-emergency assistance from Dispatch, call 775-334-COPS (2677).

Visit RenoPD.com and click on "File a Report" to submit an online report.

Juneteenth became federal law in 2021, and the City of Reno began observing the day in 2022. During the 2023 legislature, Nevada Governor Joe Lombardo signed it into law as an official Nevada State holiday. The Juneteenth holiday commemorates June 19, 1865, when the Union army arrived in Texas bearing federal orders proclaiming the end of slavery.
