The Rolling Recreation trailer will visit Pat Baker Park on Wednesday, July 17, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Ahead of the 2024-2025 school year, the City of Reno plans to include a backpack giveaway at this stop from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. A total of 50 backpacks will be available to children on a first-come, first-served basis.
The backpacks will contain basic school supplies such as pencils, markers, crayons, and notebooks and are best suited for kindergarteners through fifth graders.
Starting at 9:00 a.m., the Rolling Recreation trailer will be at the park offering not only the backpacks but also new games and other activities from its mobile recreational hub. Activities include table tennis, cornhole, Jenga, dodgeballs, and more. The backpack giveaway will begin at 11:00 a.m.
The Food Bank of Northern Nevada’s Kids Cafe will also be on-site to provide free meals starting at 11:30 a.m., while supplies last.
The Rolling Recreation trailer visits each ward twice per month and offers park-goers various activities including yard games, basketball, football, table tennis, cornhole, glow-in-the-dark night games, telescopes, nerf guns, Jenga, dodgeballs, video games and more.
