WASHINGTON, D.C. –  U.S. Representatives Mark Amodei (R-NV-02) and Lizzie Fletcher (D-TX-07) announced the launch of the ‘American Canadian Economy and Security (ACES) Caucus,’ a bipartisan coalition dedicated to advancing policies that strengthen the economic and security relationship between the United States and Canada.

“Together, the United States and Canada have built a close and enduring partnership that benefits both nations,” said Representative Mark Amodei. “The economies of our two countries are closely intertwined, with billions of dollars’ worth of goods traded across the border every day. On top of that, we are bonded together by our shared national security interests, which include the defense of North America. As the co-chair of the new ACES Caucus, I am dedicated to advancing solutions that support and strengthen this important bilateral relationship for generations to come.”

“For more than a century, the United States and Canada have maintained a close partnership built on a foundation of shared democratic values,” said Representative Lizzie Fletcher. “Our strong cross-border trade, integrated economies, and national security interests are important drivers for our countries, which is why I am glad to launch the ACES Caucus with Congressman Amodei. I look forward to working together with our colleagues to strengthen economic and security ties between the United States and Canada.”

“Thank you Congressman Mark Amodei and Congresswoman Lizzie Fletcher for your leadership on this initiative. Founded on the millions of people-to-people connections, the unique partnership between the United States and Canada is far-reaching and felt in every state and congressional district across the United States,” said Kirsten Hillman, Ambassador of Canada to the United States. “This bipartisan Caucus carves out a space for members of Congress to highlight the importance of this deep and historic partnership, from our integrated economies to our robust defence collaboration and beyond. Together with my team at the Embassy and our 12 Consulates General across the United States, I look forward to working closely with all members of the ACES Caucus to strengthen this enduring friendship.”

The Caucus membership also includes Representatives Nancy Mace (R-SC-01), Lloyd Smucker (R-PA-11), Kelly Armstrong (R-ND-01), Dina Titus (D-NV-01), Susie Lee (D-NV-03), John Joyce (R-PA-13), Mike Flood (R-NE-01), Marc Veasey (D-TX-33), and Ken Calvert (R-CA-41).
