Due to improving air quality conditions, the Yellow Burn Code issued Nov. 21, 2022 has been rescinded. A Green Burn Code is now in effect and all wood-burning devices can be used per usual. We thank those who refrained from using their wood-burning device during the Yellow Burn Code that discouraged the use of wood-burning devices.
The burn code is updated at 3 p.m. PST every day and you can check it on our website at OurCleanAir.com, on our Twitter page here, or on the weather segment of your local news broadcast. See the original Yellow Burn Code release below.
The Washoe County Health District is nationally accredited by the Public Health Accreditation Board and has jurisdiction over all public health matters in Reno, Sparks, and Washoe County through the policy-making Washoe County District Board of Health.
