County of Washoe recently issued the following announcement.
The Washoe County Health District is pleased to announce three appointments and reappointments to the Air Pollution Control Hearing Board (APCHB). The District Board of Health (DBOH) unanimously approved appointments of Martin Breitmeyer, Anthony Dimple, PE, and Phil Schweber. The DBOH also approved the re-appointments of Yvonne Downs, Richard W. Harris and Lee Squire.
The APCHB serves an extremely important purpose to maintain clean air in Washoe County. Among its duties are to consider appeals of notice of violations issued by the Health District Air Quality Management Division (AQMD) and petitions for variances authorized by the regulations. After receiving evidence and conducting a hearing, the APCHB forwards its findings and recommendations to the DBOH for a final decision.
