5% of citizens unemployed in Washoe County in 2021

Washoe County recorded an unemployment rate of 5% among residents aged 16 and 65 years old in 2021. That’s 12,856 people out of the 479,758 living in Washoe County at the time, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The unemployment rate in Washoe County has decreased compared to the 5.2% registered in 2020.

The percentage of people unemployed in Washoe County was less than the statewide unemployment rate of 7.1%.

Of the 244,998 people who had a job during that time, 756 were employed in the Armed Forces and 244,242 belonged to the civilian labor force.
