U.S. Sen. Jacky Rosen (D-NV) recently voiced her support for the National Endowment for the Arts for awarding $400,000 in grants to four Nevada organizations.
The grants include $150,000 to the Western Folklife Center in Elko, $50,000 to the Churchill Arts Council in Fallon, $50,000 to the Reno Chamber Orchestra and $150,000 to the City of Henderson, according to a release from Rosen. The funds will go towards supporting employee expenses and COVID-19 pandemic recovery.
"Arts and music programs are an essential part of our culture and our communities in Nevada," Rosen said, according to the release. "These grants will help important local organizations across the state make ends meet and keep operating for the public as they navigate the ongoing challenges of the pandemic.
"This is yet another example of how the American Rescue Plan is continuing to invest in our communities, delivering resources that benefit all Nevadans and strengthening our economic recovery."
This funding is provided through the American Rescue Plan, which Rosen voted in favor of in 2021.
The American Rescue Plan seeks to provide the necessary funding to communities to help them recover from the various impacts of the pandemic and help bolster econom ic recovery.
