Wolf Pack women’s tennis opens season with sweep over UC Irvine

Nevada Wolf Pack Women’s Tennis started its 2026 season with a strong performance, defeating UC Irvine 7-0 in Irvine, California.

In doubles matches, Marlene Foerster and Silvia-Maria Costache won against Amanda Perez and Carolyna Fowler with a score of 6-0. Petra Janigova and Wiem Boubaker also secured a 6-0 win over Haily Huynh and Yen Nhi Huynh. The third pair, Amahée Charrier and Kennedy Robinson, were leading their match 4-2 when the overall doubles point was clinched.

The team continued its success in singles play by winning all six matches. Janigova beat H. Huynh 6-1, 6-2. Foerster defeated Perez 7-5, 6-1. Robinson won over Fowler with scores of 6-4, 6-3. Costache overcame Pitchford 7-5, 6-1. Charrier secured a victory against Y. Huynh in two sets, 6-2, 7-6. Boubaker finished the day with a tiebreak win against M. Huynh: she took the first set 7-5, lost the second set 2-6, but claimed the final set in a tiebreaker.

Nevada’s next competition will be next weekend at Auburn where they are scheduled to face No. 65 Florida State on Saturday and then either No. 8 Auburn or No. 76 Tulane on Sunday.
