Washoe County Sheriff’s Office investigates fatal shooting at intersection

The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office announced on March 23 that detectives are investigating a shooting death that occurred the previous evening. Deputies responded to reports of a battery with a deadly weapon involving the driver of a vehicle and a motorcyclist at the intersection of Clear Acre Lane and Sun Valley Boulevard, near Dandini Boulevard and El Rancho Drive.

Upon arrival, deputies found an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound. The individual was transported to a local hospital where he later died from his injuries.

Authorities said this is an isolated incident and there is no ongoing threat to the community. The Sheriff’s Office urged anyone with information about the case to contact their Detective Division or Secret Witness, referencing case number WC26-1532.

The identity of the deceased is pending confirmation by the Washoe County Regional Medical Examiner’s Office after notification of next of kin.
