Detectives with the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office Northern Nevada Drug Task Force arrested a suspect on April 3 following an investigation into the sale and distribution of methamphetamine in Washoe County.
The arrest is part of ongoing efforts to address narcotics trafficking in the region. Authorities say such investigations are important for public safety and community well-being.
According to the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office, detectives, along with members from the High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area task force, K9 Unit, and Regional Narcotics Unit, arrested 21-year-old Aldo Cruz-Delgado during a traffic stop in Sparks. The suspect was booked at the Washoe County Detention Facility on felony charges that include trafficking a controlled substance (over 400 grams), possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, possession of a controlled substance (over 42 grams), and selling or transporting a controlled substance.
Detectives seized approximately six pounds of methamphetamine during their investigation. The estimated street value of these narcotics is over $81,000.
The Northern Nevada Drug Task Force includes detectives from the sheriff’s office as well as special agents and task force officers from the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration’s Reno Resident Office. This partnership focuses on investigating and dismantling drug trafficking operations throughout northern Nevada.
