The United States Marshals Nevada Violent Offender Task Force arrested Nathan Potier and Erica Palmer, both 36 and from Oklahoma City, on March 17 in Sparks, Nevada, according to a March 19 announcement. The two were wanted on felony warrants issued out of Oklahoma County—Potier for Sexual Assault of a Child and Palmer for Enabling Sexual Abuse of a Child.
The arrests are the result of an ongoing investigation by the Regional Sex Offender Notification Unit (RSONU), which works in partnership with the United States Marshals Service and the Nevada Department of Public Safety. Authorities said that detectives developed information suggesting Potier and Palmer were hiding in the Reno/Sparks area.
Task force members followed several investigative leads before confirming the suspects’ location. After their whereabouts were verified, law enforcement coordinated an operation that led to both individuals being taken into custody without incident. They were booked at the Washoe County Detention Facility and will be extradited to Oklahoma County to face charges there.
Officials said this case highlights strong cooperation among investigators and partner agencies. “Through these joint operations, law enforcement remains focused on locating individuals attempting to avoid detection and ensuring they are held accountable, while continuing proactive efforts to track and monitor registered sex offenders within our region,” according to the release.
The RSONU includes personnel from the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office, Reno Police Department, Sparks Police Department, Nevada Parole and Probation, and the United States Marshals Service.
