City of Reno asking for input on cannabis consumption lounges

The City of Reno’s Business License team invites stakeholders to two public meetings to be held on the first floor of Reno City Hall (1 E. 1st St., Reno, NV 89501) in the Council Chamber. The meetings will be hybrid, meaning the public can participate in person or virtually:

  • Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at 5:30 p.m. Zoom Webinar Registration
  • Thursday, December 1, 2022 at 3 p.m. Zoom Webinar Registration

The purpose of the meetings is to gather public comment, including offers of support or concern regarding the potential legalization and regulation of cannabis consumption lounges (“Lounges”) in the City of Reno.

At its regularly scheduled meeting on June 28, 2022, the Cannabis Compliance Board approved the passage of Nevada Cannabis Compliance Regulation 15, which governs the licensure and operation of Lounges in Nevada. On September 14, 2022, Reno City Council directed staff to gather information from the public regarding community support or concern related to the possible legalization of Lounges in the City of Reno.

In addition to the stakeholder meetings, the public can provide feedback to Council in the following ways:

  • Complete an online survey
  • Email businesslic@reno.gov
  • In person on the second floor of Reno City Hall during regular work hours
  • By mail to P.O. Box 1900, Reno, NV 89505

All comments must be submitted to the Business License Division by 4 p.m. on Friday, December 9, 2022. More background information regarding Lounges and a project timeline is available from Reno.gov/Engage.
