The University of Nevada, Reno (UNR) has selected its first Supply Chain and Transportation Management program director.
UNR's latest industry-based program in the College of Business, Supply Chain and Transportation Management, will be led by Robyn Brunscher, a specialist with more than 25 years of experience in the supply chain management sector; a recent UNR news release said.
Brunscher worked in business development at a number of different companies before accepting the UNR post. She held a number of positions for United Parcel Service Inc.; was president of the fulfillment division at iDrive Logistics; and was customer engagement lead for a moonshot project at X Company, a division of Alphabet.
"I want to teach the next generation about this fabulous industry no one knew about 25 years ago," Brunscher said in the release. "Every company has a supply chain and needs people who are highly educated and skilled in this field."
She went on to talk about her goals and intentions while in the role.
"We intend to blend the curriculum with practicum and internships," Brunscher said. "I have the chance to share my personal experiences from over 20 plus years in the industry, introduce subject matter experts, and combine it with the research and data that has been collected."
Gregory Mosier, dean of the College of Business, also commented on the addition of the new program director.
"We are excited to have Robyn join us in this new program," he said. "She brings a wealth of knowledge and industry experience that will prove to be beneficial to our students and help direct our efforts in support of the industry."
