Fund College with the Help of Financial Aid

Although students may know the benefits of applying for financial aid, the application process can seem difficult or confusing. Never fear, as TMCC’s Financial Aid, Scholarships and Student Employment Office is dedicating the whole month of October to ensuring students complete their FAFSA.

The yearly Fastober event is providing multiple opportunities for students and their parents to sit down with a Financial Aid expert and complete the FAFSA, which opens the door to not only the Pell Grant, but the Federal Supplemental Education Opportunity Grant, Nevada Promise Scholarship, and more!

“One of the big benefits that this event offers is the opportunity to ask financial aid experts questions as you’re going through the application process,” Nicole Barnes, financial aid coordinator, said. “It can also help students to meet deadlines for priority awarding so that they can have a deeper pool of financial aid opportunities.”

Even if you’ve already submitted your FAFSA, students can also stop in to ask questions about other financial aid opportunities. The Recruitment and Access Center will be joining the Financial Aid team to offer assistance with the Nevada Promise Application. College can be expensive, so why not make sure you’re getting all the help possible?
