The Las Vegas Raiders have reportedly released wide receiver Willie Snead.

The Raiders made a bye week subtraction from their team through the release of Willie Snead, an experienced wide receiver.

“#Raiders releasing John Brown and Willie Snead shows how good Zay Jones really is," a post from the NFL fan account @bravobennyb said Oct. 26. "Beat out 2 veterans for roster spots. Now that we only have 4 WRs, I think the Raiders trade for one. Names I like are Brandon Aiyuk, Odell Beckham Jr, and Brandon Cooks.”

Snead requested his release after only seven games as a free agent due to him playing too little, SB Nation reported Oct. 26. The deal Snead had signed with the team included $987,500 in guaranteed money out of $1.127 million in his contract. Adam Schefter of ESPN was the first to break the story.

Snead's statistical record with the Raiders thus far was not impressive, garnering only three catches for 32 yards, according to SB Nation. Many of the Raiders veteran receivers have struggled this year with most the positive contributions at the position being made by younger receivers, as well as running backs and tight ends. It is anticipated that the Raiders will promote a player from the practice squad, sign another free agent or make a trade to supplement the four wide receivers currently remaining on their roster.
