The Reno City Council convened on June 11, 2025, to discuss and approve several key agenda items. Among the decisions made was the approval of a new exterior cover membrane for Fire Station 1. The purchase and installation will not exceed $240,472, including a contingency fund, with Vision Building Companies handling the installation.
In another decision, the Council and Redevelopment Agency Board awarded a contract to All Eagle, LLC for demolishing buildings at the Community Assistance Center. This project is capped at $700,000 and is part of an agreement with Ulysses Development Group.
For water reclamation projects, contracts were awarded to KG Walters Construction Co. Inc. and Carollo Engineers, Inc., among others. These projects include improvements at the Truckee Meadows Water Reclamation Facility and renovations at its Bleach Building HVAC system.
Additionally, phlebotomy services for DUI investigations were extended through June 2026 under an agreement with Technical Medical, LLC. A technology services contract was also approved with Blue Cover Six LLC to enhance IT support for the Reno Police Department.
The Council directed staff to gather public input on live entertainment zoning regulations and noise control in downtown areas. Financial updates were provided by the Finance Department, which included budget adjustments for fiscal year 2025.
Rezoning plans were moved forward for parcels near Security Circle and North Virginia Street from Mixed-Use Suburban to Mixed Employment zones.
Edward Ableser and Brian Kulpin were appointed to the Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority Board of Directors.
Other actions included accepting grants for environmental projects and youth scholarships as well as donations from local organizations.
