City of Reno issued the following announcement on September 2.
Proposals via PlanetBids will be received by the City of Reno until 2:00 P.MLocal Time on October 13, 2021 for Contract Number FM960/E100197.
 
Said Proposal shall include all labortoolsimplementsmachinerymaterials, and any incidentals necessary to complete the work in the manner and time prescribedand in strict conformity with the Contract Documents to the satisfaction of the City EngineerIn general, the major work items include:
Remove existing 4,400 square-foot shake-shingle roof and replace with asphalt shinglesreplace all dry­ rot decking and fascia boardremove approximately 1,250 square-feet of shake-shingle sidingreplace damaged gypsum board backing as neededreplace shake-shingle siding with new wood siding (to match existing plywood siding)paint approximately 4,250 square-feet of existing and new plywood sidingand other miscellaneous work as outlined in the plans and specifications.
 
A mandatory pre-bid walk through will be held on September 29, 2021 at 11: 15 a.m. Bidders are required to meet at Paradise Park Community Center in the east parking lot at 2750 Paradise Drive, Reno, NV 89512.
 
Minority and Women Business Enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this noticeand will not be discriminated against on the grounds of racecoloror national origin in consideration for and award of any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement. The City of Reno affirms its interest in and encourages the different contracting communities to actively pursue participation and utilization of Minority and Women Business Enterprises on City projects.
 
The Bidders attention is directed to Nevada Revised Statutes 338.01165enacted by the Nevada Legislature by passage of Senate Bill No. 207setting forth the requirements for the use of apprentices on public works which requires a contractor or subcontractor to comply with certain requirements relating to the use of apprentices on public works.
 
Digital copies of the plansspecifications and related documents are available through PlanetBids (Invitation #FM-2021-960) for downloading from the City of Renos website http://www.reno.gov/business/bids-rfpsOnly those bidders who have registered as a vendor and are included in and appear on the prospective bidders list may submit a bid.
