Nevada Women’s Basketball was unable to secure a win against Boise State on Wednesday, losing 70-61 at home. The game was part of Nevada’s ‘When I Grow Up’ event.

Nevada, now holding a 7-15 overall record and 3-9 in Mountain West play, overcame an early deficit by outscoring Boise State 14-1 over the final five-and-a-half minutes of the first quarter. This run helped Nevada build an 11-point lead and go into halftime ahead 37-29.

However, foul trouble in the second half allowed Boise State to shift momentum. The Broncos capitalized at the free throw line, making 16 out of 18 attempts in the last two quarters, including a strong third quarter performance where they went 7-for-8 from the line. Five consecutive free throws narrowed Nevada’s lead to three points at 39-36. Later, back-to-back three-pointers from Natalie Pasco and Keirra Thompson gave Boise State a 48-47 edge entering the fourth quarter.

Boise State extended its advantage with an 8-0 run in the middle of the fourth quarter, pulling away for good.

Skylar Durley led all players with 20 points and eight rebounds for Nevada. She was also the only Wolf Pack player to reach double figures in scoring.

For Boise State, Libby Hutton scored a team-high 16 points. Natalie Pasco contributed 14 points while Mya Hansen added 12 points and made seven out of eight free throws.

Boise State also had an advantage from three-point range, making nine compared to Nevada’s three.

The game opened with a quick start from Boise State as they went on a 9-0 run. Ahrray Young put Nevada on the board with their first basket. After that, Nevada responded with a strong offensive effort, going on a 14-0 run over four minutes to take its first lead.

Nevada kept control throughout the second quarter and pushed its lead into double digits while shooting at a rate of fifty percent from the field before halftime.

Nevada will next travel to face Fresno State on Saturday at 3 p.m.
