Nevada Women’s Basketball will finish its regular season on Tuesday with a game against Utah State at the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum Center in Logan, Utah. The matchup is scheduled for 5 p.m. PT/6 p.m. MT and will be broadcast on Mountain West Network/NSN, with radio coverage available on The Varsity Network and KPLY 630 AM.

In their most recent game, Nevada faced New Mexico at home and lost 63-56. Nevada started strong, shooting over 81 percent from the field in the first quarter and leading by two points heading into the second period. They maintained an advantage through halftime but lost momentum during the second half.

Turnovers and rebounding were issues for Nevada in that contest. New Mexico scored 19 points off of 16 turnovers committed by Nevada and also won the rebounding battle, particularly on offense. The Lobos collected 36 rebounds compared to Nevada’s 30, including 13 offensive boards.

Skylar Durley led Nevada with 16 points and six rebounds. Ahrray Young added 10 points, while Britain Backus contributed eight points and five rebounds.

Utah State comes into Tuesday’s game after a loss to Boise State, falling 75-59. The Aggies were outscored in every quarter except for the second, where both teams scored 15 points each. At halftime, Utah State trailed by just two before Boise State pulled away in the second half. Utah State was outrebounded as well, recording 29 boards to Boise State’s 38.

Aaliyah Gayles led Utah State with 16 points against Boise State. Elise Livingston followed with 13 points and four rebounds, while Rachel Wilson added twelve points.

The previous meeting between these teams took place in Reno at the start of January when Nevada defeated Utah State by a score of 58-40.

Tuesday’s contest marks the final regular season game for both teams before Nevada heads to Las Vegas this weekend for the Credit Union 1 Mountain West Tournament.
