Nevada Wolf Pack Athletics announced on Apr. 6 that several of its sports teams will be in action this week, with both baseball and softball hosting important series at home while men’s and women’s tennis, golf, and track and field compete in various events.

This week’s schedule is significant as it features final home appearances for some teams ahead of postseason play. Fans have opportunities to see the teams compete locally before they head into the next phase of their seasons.

Baseball begins its five-game stretch with a Monday game at Sacramento State before returning to Reno to face UC Davis on Tuesday evening. The team then hosts San José State over the weekend in a three-game Mountain West Conference series at Don Weir Field at Peccole Park. Last week, Nevada split two non-conference games, highlighted by Mikey Cruz Jr.’s grand slam during an 18-7 win over Simpson University.

Men’s Tennis hosts New Mexico on Wednesday at McArthur Tennis Center as the team seeks its first conference victory after a recent loss to UNLV. Women’s Tennis will close out its home schedule against Fresno State on Friday before traveling to San José State Sunday. The team recently defeated Grand Canyon University but fell to San Diego State during their homestand.

In other sports, Women’s Golf travels to Maricopa, Arizona for the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic—the team’s last regular-season event—while Men’s Golf heads to Davis for the El Macero Classic. Track & Field competes in Azusa at the Bryan Clay Multis this week.

Softball plays a doubleheader against San Diego State Wednesday before returning home for two games against New Mexico Saturday and Sunday at Christina M. Hixson Park. As seasons approach their conclusion, these competitions will determine positioning heading into conference tournaments later this month.
