Nevada will host the Credit Union 1 Mountain West Indoor Track and Field Championships from February 26 to 28, 2026, at the Reno-Sparks Convention Center. The event marks the first time since 2002 that Nevada has hosted a conference indoor championship meet, and the first Mountain West championship event in any sport held by Nevada since the 2019 baseball tournament at Don Weir Field at Peccole Park.

The competition is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. on Thursday, followed by an 11:30 a.m. start on Friday and a 9:30 a.m. start on Saturday.

Last year, Nevada’s women’s track and field team finished ninth with 30 points. Junior sprinter Magdalene George earned two Mountain West medals, placing third in both the 60-meter (7.32) and the 200-meter (23.32) events; her time in the latter set a new school record. Annalies Kalma finished fifth in the 400-meter final with a personal best of 53.41 seconds. In triple jump, Meekness Dogonyaro placed fourth with a leap of 12.97 meters, while freshman Kaja Maltaric was twelfth.

Entering this year’s championships, Nevada athletes are ranked among the top ten in fourteen events within the Mountain West Conference. Annalies Kalma is ranked first in the conference for the 200 meters and second for overall performance; she also stands fifteenth nationally in the 400 meters. Johanna Haas leads conference rankings for pentathlon and holds third place in Wolf Pack history after scoring 3934 points at the Wolf Pack Classic; Haas is also ranked fifth in the conference for the 60-meter hurdles. Maggie George enters as fifth seed in the 60-meter dash and sixth seed in the 200 meters.

In jumping events, six Nevada athletes hold top ten spots across disciplines such as triple jump—where Meekness Dogonyaro ranks second and Kaja Maltaric eighth—and long jump, where Maltaric ranks third followed by Alma Kathan in fifth place. Hazel Gaspaire is ranked fifth and Stina Larsson ninth in high jump standings.

Additionally, Nevada holds fourth place ranking in the conference’s 4×400 meter relay and fifth place ranking for distance medley relay.
