Nevada will host San José State in a Mountain West Conference men’s basketball game on Tuesday, January 20, at the Lawlor Events Center in Reno. The matchup is scheduled for 7 p.m. and will be available to watch on the Mountain West Network and MW App, with John Ramey and Nick Fazekas providing commentary. Fans can also listen to the radio broadcast on 95.5 KNEV or through the Varsity Network App.

The Nevada Wolf Pack enters the game with a 13-5 overall record and a 5-2 mark in conference play after defeating Air Force 81-66 on Saturday. In that game, five Nevada players scored in double figures, led by Corey Camper Jr. with 23 points. The team outscored Air Force’s bench and held a significant rebounding advantage.

San José State comes into the contest with a 6-12 record (1-6 MW) following a loss to UNLV over the weekend. Melvin Bell Jr. led the Spartans with career-highs of 22 points and eight rebounds while playing all forty minutes.

Nevada’s depth has contributed to its success this season, as it holds a 7-2 record when its bench outscores opponents’ reserves. Freshmen such as Peyton White, Ethan Croley, and Myles Walker have played key roles; White has appeared in every game so far, Croley recorded an early-season double-double against San Francisco, and Walker has contributed both offensively and defensively.

Elijah Price remains one of Nevada’s top performers, leading the Mountain West Conference in total rebounds (157). He ranks second in offensive rebounds per game (2.94) and blocks (32), setting several personal milestones this season including a career-high of 19 rebounds against Sacramento State.

Tayshawn Comer and Corey Camper Jr. continue to lead Nevada’s offense statistically—Comer has tallied 68 assists along with averaging nearly fourteen points per game; Camper Jr., meanwhile, averages just over sixteen points per contest.

Statistically, Nevada ranks among conference leaders: third in blocks per game (4.0), first in free throws made per game (19.8), second for free throw attempts (26), and thirteenth nationally for fewest turnovers per game (9.5).

Elijah Price was recently named Old Trapper Mountain West Player of the Week after averaging 18.5 points and 11.5 rebounds across two games last week.

Following Tuesday’s home matchup against San José State, Nevada will travel to Albuquerque for an away contest versus New Mexico on Saturday.
