After securing a narrow 80-77 victory over Utah State, the Nevada men’s basketball team will host New Mexico on Tuesday, February 24, at Lawlor Events Center in Reno. The game is scheduled for 8 p.m. and will be broadcast on CBS Sports Network with Chris Lewis providing play-by-play commentary and John Henson as analyst. Fans can also listen to the radio broadcast on 95.5 KNEV or through the Varsity Network App, where John Ramey and Nick Fazekas will call the action.

Nevada comes into this matchup with an overall record of 18-9 and a Mountain West Conference record of 10-6. In their last outing against Utah State, the Wolf Pack had four players score in double digits and shot efficiently from both the field (51 percent) and three-point range (53 percent). Corey Camper Jr. led Nevada with 20 points and four rebounds, while Elijah Price contributed a double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds. Tayshawn Comer added 12 points and seven assists, and Kaleb Lowery finished with 11 points and five rebounds. On defense, Price and Joel Armotrading each recorded three blocks.

The previous meeting between Nevada and New Mexico took place on January 24 at The Pit, where New Mexico won 80-73. Despite winning the battle in the paint by outscoring New Mexico 32-22 inside, Nevada struggled with turnovers (9 compared to New Mexico’s 20) and bench production (6 points versus New Mexico’s 26). In that game, Camper Jr. scored another team-high of 20 points along with eight rebounds; Price had a double-double with 16 points and eleven boards.

New Mexico enters Tuesday’s contest following an impressive comeback win over Fresno State after trailing by as many as twenty-two points in the first half. Deyton Albury led all scorers for the Lobos with twenty-one points—the highest single-game total of his Mountain West career—and grabbed eight rebounds. Freshman Jake Hall contributed twenty points for his ninth such game this season.

Corey Camper Jr., who transferred from UTEP before joining Nevada, recently reached a milestone by joining the program’s “1,000-point club” after scoring eighteen against San Jose State earlier this season.

Elijah Price surpassed five hundred career rebounds during Nevada’s recent win over Utah State—a performance that included twelve boards—highlighting his importance inside for the Wolf Pack this year.

Nevada has benefited from its depth throughout this campaign: they hold a ten-and-three record when outscoring opponents in bench points. Several freshmen have played key roles; Peyton White has appeared in twenty-six games so far this season while Ethan Croley recorded a double-double against San Francisco—marking the first time since two thousand twenty-three that a freshman accomplished that feat for Nevada.

Elijah Price continues to rank among conference leaders in rebounding (second overall) as well as blocks per game (first), demonstrating his consistency on both ends of the court.

On offense, Corey Camper Jr. leads Nevada with an average of seventeen point seven points per game across four hundred eight total points so far this season.

Statistically, Nevada remains among conference leaders in several categories: they lead all Mountain West teams in free throws made per game (19.4) as well as attempts per game (25.7), are third in blocks per contest (3.9), and are second only to Colorado State in three-point shooting percentage at thirty-seven point six percent.

Turnover efficiency has also been notable; across twenty-seven games played so far this year, Nevada has committed just two hundred sixty-three turnovers—recording ten or fewer giveaways in eighteen contests.

Looking ahead after Tuesday’s home matchup against New Mexico, Nevada will travel to Las Vegas to face UNLV on February 28 at seven p.m.
