Nevada will return to Lawlor Events Center on Saturday for a key Mountain West matchup against Utah State. The Wolf Pack, holding a 17-9 overall record and 9-6 in conference play, are seeking to rebound after an 87-71 loss at San José State earlier this week.
The game is scheduled for 7 p.m. and will be broadcast on FS1 with Nick Koop providing play-by-play and Noah Buono as analyst. Fans can also listen to the radio broadcast on 95.5 KNEV or through the Varsity Network App, featuring John Ramey and Nick Fazekas.
Following Saturday’s contest, Nevada will continue its homestand by facing the New Mexico Lobos on Tuesday.
In their most recent outing, Nevada struggled defensively as San José State shot over 50 percent from both the field and three-point range. Despite outscoring the Spartans in the paint (32-14) and off the bench (15-11), Nevada could not close the gap. Corey Camper Jr. led with 18 points, four assists, and three steals, while Elijah Price added 14 points and seven rebounds.
When Nevada last faced Utah State on January 14, they fell short with a score of 71-62. Elijah Price posted a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds in that game.
Utah State enters Saturday’s matchup following a win over Boise State where they limited their opponent to just 56 points—Boise’s lowest scoring performance of the season—while shooting nearly 55 percent from the field themselves. Mason Falslev led Utah State with 17 points in that victory.
Corey Camper Jr., who recently surpassed the career milestone of 1,000 collegiate points after transferring from UTEP to Nevada, continues to be a central figure for the Wolf Pack offense this season. He has averaged nearly 18 points per game so far.
Elijah Price is nearing his own achievement as he approaches 500 career rebounds; he currently sits at 493 boards. His rebounding efforts have helped solidify his status among Mountain West leaders both offensively and defensively.
Nevada has benefited from its depth throughout this season, posting a strong record when outscoring opponents off the bench. Freshman contributions have also played a role: Peyton White has appeared in all but one game; Ethan Croley recorded a double-double earlier this year; Myles Walker has provided additional support in multiple categories across games played.
Price ranks second in the conference for total rebounds (229) as well as blocks (44). His single-game high of 19 rebounds set under head coach Steve Alford remains unmatched since at least 2016 by any Nevada player.
Statistically, Nevada leads all Mountain West teams in free throws made per game (19.4) and attempts per game (25.6), while ranking third in blocks per contest (3.8). The team is also second in three-point shooting percentage at just above 37 percent behind Colorado State.
Ball security has been another strength for Nevada this season—they rank among national leaders for fewest turnovers per game at just under ten through their first twenty-six contests.
