After facing Wyoming, Nevada will return home for its last regular-season game against Air Force on Saturday, March 7.
In their previous meeting this season, Nevada defeated Wyoming 92-83 at Lawlor Events Center. Five players from Nevada scored in double figures during that game. Corey Camper Jr. set a career high with 31 points and seven rebounds, while Elijah Price had 20 points and 13 rebounds. Tayshawn Comer recorded a double-double with ten points and ten assists.
Wyoming enters Tuesday’s matchup after a 66-62 win over Air Force. Despite shooting just 35 percent from the field and struggling from three-point range, Wyoming capitalized on turnovers and free throws to secure the victory. Damarion Dennis led with 16 points and three assists; Nasir Meyer added 14 points and eight rebounds.
Weems has recently improved his performance for Nevada, posting back-to-back career-high scoring games: he had 20 points against New Mexico before his latest effort at UNLV.
Corey Camper Jr., who transferred from UTEP, reached the milestone of 1,000 collegiate career points after scoring against San Jose State on February 17.
Elijah Price surpassed 500 career rebounds in Nevada’s win over Utah State on February 21. Earlier this season, he recorded a personal best of 19 rebounds in one game—Nevada’s highest single-game total since 2016 under head coach Steve Alford.
Nevada has benefited from strong bench play throughout the season, holding a record of ten wins and four losses when outscoring opponents’ benches.
Freshmen have also contributed significantly this year: Peyton White has appeared in most games with notable scoring and rebounding performances; Ethan Croley achieved a double-double earlier in the season; Myles Walker has provided support off the bench across several categories.
Price remains among conference leaders with his rebounding numbers—second overall—and leads in blocked shots this season.
Camper Jr. is currently leading Nevada offensively with an average of over seventeen points per game this year and reached a personal high of thirty-five points against Boise State on February 3.
Statistically, Nevada ranks highly within both the Mountain West Conference and nationally for free throws made (eighth) and attempted (fourteenth) per game while leading its conference in these categories as well as ranking third in blocks per game. The team also stands second in conference three-point percentage behind Colorado State.
