The Nevada men’s tennis team lost to UNLV, 4-0, in a Silver State Series match on April 4 in Las Vegas. The match took place at the Fertitta Tennis Center.
This result marks another defeat for Nevada in Mountain West Conference play. The loss brings the Wolf Pack’s season record to 9-7 overall and 0-4 in conference matches.
UNLV secured the doubles point with wins at the No. 1 and No. 2 positions, although Nevada’s Axel Huysmans and Max Contet were leading their opponents at No. 3 when play was stopped due to clinching rules. In singles, Greg Valente led Michael Kouame at No. 4 before their match was left unfinished, while Rémy Trégourès split sets with Marko Maksimovic at No. 2 before that contest also went unfinished. However, UNLV won straight-set matches at Nos. 3, 1, and 6 singles to clinch the overall victory.
Nevada will return home for its next match against New Mexico on Wednesday, April 8 at McArthur Tennis Center in Reno.
The Wolf Pack will look for their first conference win as they continue Mountain West play.
