Nevada men’s tennis sweeps Weber State in home opener

Nevada Men’s Tennis defeated Weber State 7-0 in its home opener at McArthur Tennis Center on March 14.

The match marked the start of Nevada’s home schedule for the 2026 season. The Wolf Pack improved their record to 8-3 with this win.

Nevada secured the doubles point early, with Rémy Trégourès and Greg Valente winning 6-1 at No. 2 doubles, followed by Axel Huysmans and Sebastiano Cressi clinching the point with a 6-1 victory at No. 3. In singles play, Huysmans led the team with a decisive 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 1 singles against Theo Mottier, while Rayen Hermassi earned a quick victory over Dawid Scholtz, finishing 6-2, 6-0.

At No. 6 singles, Nicolas Recoura posted a strong performance with a 6-1, 6-0 result. The dual-clinching win came from Valente at No. 3 singles after he defeated Toit Malan in straight sets, 7-5, 6-2. Other victories included Ibrahim Snoussi’s close match at No.4 (7-6(5), 4-6,10-8) and Cressi’s win at No.5 (7-5,6-4).

With this sweep completed, Nevada will begin Mountain West conference play next weekend with matches scheduled against Boise State and Utah State.

The team’s next steps will be tested as they travel for their first conference matches of the season.
