Nevada Wolf Pack Football announced on April 1 that it will partner with Churchill County High School to hold the Fallon/Wolf Pack Football & Community Festival on Friday, April 10 at 6 p.m. The event will take place at Churchill County High School and is free for the public.

The festival aims to strengthen connections between the Wolf Pack football team and the Churchill County community. Attendees will have opportunities to meet team members, participate in interactive activities such as a “Fastest Kid in Fallon” contest, a punt, pass, and kick competition involving Nevada players and local children, a fan field goal attempt, a youth cheer clinic led by the Nevada cheer team, and a possible performance from members of the university’s Pride of Sierra Marching Band. Prizes and giveaways from Nevada Athletics are also planned throughout the evening.

“We are extremely excited to bring our team to Fallon and showcase our team, this great group of young men we have put together. Getting out to a place like Fallon where sports are such an integral part of the fabric of the community, and the opportunity to connect with all of our fans in Churchill County and throughout Northern Nevada is really special,” said Nevada Football head coach Jeff Choate. “With a ton of fun activities planned for everyone who joins us, it should truly be an amazing night, and I can’t wait to get there.”

Fallon has produced notable athletes who went on to play for Nevada Wolf Pack Football before advancing into professional careers. Offensive lineman Harvey Dahl played for Nevada from 2001-04 before playing eight seasons in the National Football League (NFL) across 87 games; he was inducted into the Nevada Athletics Hall of Fame in 2016. Linebacker Josh Mauga also continued his career at Nevada after graduating locally before playing in 59 NFL games between 2010-15.

After an open scrimmage during the festival, there will be an autograph session with Wolf Pack players followed by fireworks.

“Fallon is a community built on pride, connection, and tradition, with a deep appreciation for athletics,” said Fallon Mayor Ken Tedford. “We are excited to welcome Wolf Pack Football to Fallon and look forward to an evening that brings together the people of Fallon, families, and visitors, highlighting what makes the City of Fallon such a special place to live, work, and play. Come celebrate with us.” The event will also feature representatives from Nevada Athletics Ticket Office available onsite for questions about season tickets or deposits.
