Nevada’s women’s swim and dive team competed against UNLV in the Silver State Series on Friday in Las Vegas. The Wolf Pack started strong, particularly in diving events, but ultimately lost to the Rebels with a final score of 145–98.
The meet began at 1:15 p.m. with diving, where Bailey Heydra won the 3-meter event. Nevada swept the 1-meter board, led by Heydra in first place, followed by Maggie Turpin in second, Citlali Ruiz Rocandio in third, and Vera Brewer in fourth.
In swimming events, Nevada’s A team—consisting of Ferris, Mihalic, Vagg, and Floate—finished second in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:43.02. In the 1000-yard freestyle, Isabelle Gomez took second (10:27.03), Kiera-Lee Allott finished third (10:28.95), and Audrey Bull placed sixth (11:06.86). Huska Batbayar earned second place in the 200-yard freestyle (1:50.97), while Sally Vagg and Jennifer Griner finished fifth and sixth respectively.
Ferris secured a second-place finish for Nevada in the 50-yard freestyle (23.60). Evie Floate came fourth (24.20) and Caitlin Wham was sixth (24.98). In the 200-yard IM, Moji Pholjamjumrus placed second (2:04.67) and Sara Mihalic was third (2:04.93). Evie Wood finished sixth and Justine Lapierre seventh.
Pholjamjumrus also took second place in the 200-yard butterfly (2:01.24), followed by Vagg in fourth, Wood fifth, and Bull sixth. Batbayar added another podium finish by taking second place in the 100-yard freestyle (51.67); Wham was sixth.
In backstroke events, Von Seggern finished third in the 200-yard race (2:06.37) while Griner placed fifth (2:11.13). For distance events like the 500-yard freestyle, Gomez finished fourth; Allott was fifth; Pholjamjumrus took sixth.
Nevada’s top swimming result came from Mihalic winning first place in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:18.41; Henley Kerr finished third and Lapierre fifth.
The competition concluded with relays as Nevada’s A relay team—Batbayar, Floate, Von Seggern, Ferris—finished second in the 200-yard freestyle relay at 1:35.44; their B relay secured fourth place.
Looking ahead, Nevada will face UCLA next week with diving beginning Friday at 1 p.m., followed by swimming events on Saturday at 11 a.m.
