The City of Reno has announced a new monthly event series, “House Party Plays the Tracks,” set to take place at Locomotion Plaza on July 19, August 16, and September 20. Sponsored in part by the City of Reno, these events will feature local musicians and artists with live music, art installations, and interactive activities.

The events are free and open to the public from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m., offering interactive art, fire dancing performances, and food trucks. An official after-party for those aged 21 and over will be held at Dead Ringer Analog Bar from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m., with a cover charge.

Vice Mayor Kathleen Taylor expressed her hopes for community participation: “We hope everyone will come enjoy the energy downtown, but we especially want to invite Reno locals to rediscover what’s right in their backyard.”

The event series is part of an initiative aimed at revitalizing downtown Reno through various activities as recommended by the Virginia Street Placemaking and Truckee River Studies.
