Amahée Charrier has been named the Mountain West Player of the Week for the first time this season, according to an April 8 announcement by the conference.

The recognition comes after Charrier’s strong performances in both singles and doubles matches over the weekend against Grand Canyon University and San Diego State. Her efforts contributed to Nevada’s victories, including a win over No. 70 ranked Grand Canyon.

Charrier began her weekend with a doubles victory at the No. 2 position alongside her partner, defeating Amalia Suciu and Peyton Duckett from Grand Canyon University with a score of 6-2. She followed this by winning her singles match against Bella Crossman in three sets: 6-0, 3-6, 6-2.

On Saturday, Charrier helped secure another doubles point for Nevada as part of a duo that won against Ninon Martinache and Jayna Clemens from San Diego State in a close tiebreaker set at 7-6. In singles play that day, she earned Nevada’s first point by defeating Jo-Yee Chan in straight sets, 6-3, 6-1.

Charrier’s consistent performance throughout these matches played a key role in Nevada Wolf Pack Women’s Tennis team successes during the weekend.
